GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

The Customer Support Specialist is the first point of contact for Arapahoe County citizens requesting assistance at the Assessor’s Office.  This position is an performs a wide variety of administrative duties associated with the efficient operations of the Assessor’s Office.

DUTIES:

  • Provides customer service to walk in customers and/or phone inquiries, performs research and answers basic questions within realm of expertise and if necessary, directs to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists public with researching assessor’s office records both of a routine and complex nature.
  • Maintains mobile home databases, researches and works through all issues that arise with mobile homes.
  • Performs scanning process for assessor documents, including record management and retention. Ensures that documents scanned in are accurate and the highest quality possible in the Profile System.
  • Responds to telephone messages and emails in a timely manner.
  • Maintains the Distribution of all incoming mail for the Assessor’s Office and distributes to the appropriate personal.
  • Performs such office duties as preparing Fax transmission, computer input, document filing, staff document preparation, and efforts associated with completion of special projects.
  • Processes functional forms and may respond to contested tax assessments by routing public to appropriate individual.

  • Ability to learn regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow workers, and the general public.  Ability to communicate effectively with same.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 1 years of relevant experience
  • Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered. 

 

Pre-Employment Additional Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass pre-employment testing which includes an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasionally lifts, carries, pulls, or pushes up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally uses cart, dolly, or other equipment to carry in excess of 20 lbs.

  • Verbal and auditory capacity enabling constant interpersonal communication through automated devices, such as telephones, radios, and similar; and in public meetings and personal interactions.
