Our anticipated hiring range for this position is $19.62 - 24.53 hourly depending on experience and qualifications.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
The Customer Support Specialist is the first point of contact for all Arapahoe County citizens requesting assistance from the Treasurer’s Office. This position also performs a wide variety of administrative duties associated with the efficient operations of the Treasurer’s Office.
DUTIES:
- Provides customer service to walk in customers and phone inquiries; performs research, answers questions within area of expertise and refers customers to appropriate personnel if needed.
- Performs administrative support duties such as preparing tax payments and forwarding to the Bookkeeping Department, calculating tax redemptions, generating property tax statements and receipts, sending correspondences, and archiving of files.
- Places calls to delinquent taxpayers and informs them of the property tax collection process, performs collection calls, establishes payment plans and monitors payment activity.
- Calculates pre-collection tax amounts, when applicable.
- Assists with administering the Senior/Military Deferral Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong skills in proving exceptional customer service to a diverse population, in a calm, professional, and helpful manner.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive, personal information.
- Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and tax procedures quickly.
- Effective at organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- English–Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred.

Education and Experience:
- High school or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years administrative/clerical experience preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication experience in customer-facing roles will be considered.
Pre-Employment Additional Requirements:
- Must successfully pass pre-employment testing.

Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
