GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

The Apprenticeship Coordinator will serve as an industry lead for outreach and as a technical expert for launching, expanding, and recruiting for registered apprenticeship programs throughout the state. Applicants must reside in Colorado during the position tenure, if offered the position.

DUTIES:

  • Proactively networks to generate new opportunities for the promotion and development of registered apprenticeship programs as a workforce development tool.
  • Serve as business services experts in registered apprenticeship (RAP), youth registered apprenticeship (YRAP) and high-quality pre-apprenticeships.
  • Serve as an apprenticeship subject matter expert for all partners in the apprenticeship ecosystem, as well as for organizations interested in developing an apprenticeship or a high-quality pre-apprenticeship program.
  • Coordinates on going or new statewide apprenticeship efforts with partners which may include, but is not limited to, the Colorado Department of Higher Education, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Department of Employment and Labor.
  • Consults with business executives and conducts worksite visits to assess the viability of registered apprenticeship as an appropriate tool to meet individual or group employer training needs.
  • Creates technical assistance resources for employers interested in establishing registered apprenticeship programs and guides program development from inception to completion.
  • Identifies informational and financial resources that are available to employer sponsors to assist with the development and sustainability of registered apprenticeship programs, in conjunction with stakeholders, and develops proposals for employer consideration that demonstrates the viability and complexity of possible implementation.
  • Works in collaboration with the other apprenticeship consultants, CDLE apprenticeship staff and Arapahoe/Douglas Works! as the Apprenticeship Hub.
  • Represents Arapahoe/Douglas Works! and the Colorado Apprenticeship Hub at local, regional, and state-level meetings pertaining to registered apprenticeship, workforce development, sector partnerships, and economic development to promote the grant initiative and enhance competence and awareness of conditions and strategies.
  • In collaboration with local area Business Services staff, develops an extensive network of stakeholders at all levels of the public and private sector across the apprenticeship ecosystem to identify opportunities for program expansion and promotion.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering apprenticeship training to interested stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience totaling 4 years will be considered, such as HS diploma or High School Equivalency + 4 years’ experience, Associates + 2 years, or Bachelors degree in a related field.
  • Relevant experience includes workforce development, recruiting, human resources, business administration, public policy, human services, or related setting is preferred.

 

Pre-Employment Additional Requirements:
Must successfully pass pre-employment testing which includes an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
